Notes from Lynn

 &nb= sp;        &= nbsp;

        &= nbsp;   As many of you know, I have never been one to write or take up space in the Newsletter.  But I would like to take a few minutes to let you all know how very proud I am to have been the President of this great Guild for= the last 2 years.  Having worked for various organizations in the Kansas City commu= nity over the last 20 years, I can truly say that the women that have been on the Board with me are some of the smartest and innovative that I have met. = ;

        &= nbsp;   Marie, Mary Kay, Karen and Joanne have brought us many outstanding programs.... wi= th a few more to come.  They have brought us a little something for everyon= e, from piecing, to applique, from art quilts to wearable textiles, and a= few very entertaining men!

        &= nbsp;   Sherri has brought our Newsletter into the 21st century.  We have shaved over= $1500 per year off the cost of mailing the Newsletter by having you access guild information from our website.  She has been working with other Guilds = to trade Newsletter in the same on-line manner, with great enthusiasm from all.  These savings have been funneled in to the Programs budget and a= llowed us to bring you the great national speakers we have had the pleasure of see= ing the last couple of years.

        &= nbsp;   Sandi has balanced and kept our budget running smoothly and Kathy has classed up = the Guild with personalized letterheads for all correspondence.

        &= nbsp;   We had a Quilt Show last year that was second to none.  Lynne a= nd Mary showed us what could be done by thinking outside the box.  We have established the policy of insuring the property that the Guild owns and kee= ps at the Church, as well as insuring the Guild during the Quilt Show.&nb= sp;

        &= nbsp;   Our property has been inventoried and watched over by Dana.  Paula and Sus= an set a record their year with the amount of Charity Quilts collected, and Connie followed with great enthusiasm.

        &= nbsp;   Kristen has taken the Directory to a new level.  Not only is it informative, b= ut with all the advertisers she has enlisted, it has become a major money maker for the guild. She has also established the vendors at each meeting that we= all look forward to seeing.

 &nb= sp;          Again, thank you all for your support.  I am so glad I got out of the kitchen= to be able to put a name with the faces that I would see at each meeting. = ; It has truly been my pleasure.......Lynn Droege

2007 Opportunity Quilt

The Oppor= tunity Quilt 2007 started off with a bang.  With the sale of tickets and patt= erns we totaled $551.00.  Nice job ladies.  We will be at every meeting till December for all to pick up their packets and purchase the pattern if = they choose.  Remember by being a member and buying your tickets, you can obtain the pattern cheaper than we will be selling it to the public.  = Many of you came forward with places to take the Quilt to.  In the near fut= ure it will be at Quilting Bits and Pieces in Eudora on the Thursday during Shop Hop (April 29) and at HQN on March 31.

Thanks fo= r the great response!
